The present moment
Music inspired by Clarice Beckett
“my pictures, like music, should speak for themselves” - Clarice Beckett (1887-1935)
This stunning CD further celebrates the resounding success of the Art Gallery of South Australia's Ruby Award winning exhibition Clarice Beckett: The Present Moment, curated by Tracey Lock. The Gallery commissioned acclaimed Adelaide musicians Simone Slattery and Gabriella Smart to produce new compositions to be performed during the exhibition. Slattery also created an immersive soundscape, described by the Conversation as inducing 'transcendence to another realm'. Alongside collaborators Daniel Pitman and Andrew Skeoch, the album features music for violin, vocals, electric cristal, electronics and nature recordings. Be transported into the sound world of Clarice Beckett and don't miss out on this very limited edition release. CDs will be instore and posted beginning Monday, December 13th.
Supported by Arts South Australia and the Art Gallery of South Australia.
